Sad and Thankful
I can’t believe how sad I was when I heard this this morning. Of course I too have a daughter from China the exact same age (5) and we were there just a few weeks apart. I guess it’s probably from the realization that had the papers been shuffled a little differently on the desk in the China Center for Adoption Affairs…. Maybe it’s just me but there is some sense of connection with every daughter and their parents because of the knowledge that any one of them could have been yours and yours might have been theirs had the mail been delayed one day or had your INS agent not taken those two days off. Any little random thing could have shuffled the deck and seemingly shuffled the kids.
