Gleaning Corn
I went with L and the kids to glean corn for a food bank. It was HOT! It’s 90 as a write this. When we left we thought we would be in an orchard picking oranges. I’d like to point out the obvious. Corn provides FAR LESS SHADE! I have never eaten corn moments after picking. It tasted very sweet and was extremely juicy. However I also discovered that I’m allergic to it. So no more raw corn for me.
The other point worth noting is that it’s May. Whatever happened to ‘knee high by the fouth of July’? Ah, the subtropics…
