The British are coming
Our show last night with British Sea Power was great. I think it was my favorite set of all time. I love it when we get to play for someone else’s crowd. It gives you the chance to win them over which I think we did. The applause grew louder after each song and they were cheering by the end. The Social was packed, too which always makes it fun and we had a good mix. What more could you want?
Well, I guess meeting lots of new people would be something. I sat at BSP’s merch table for the hour before we started. They were having dinner so I got to talk to all of their fans who came to buy something. One guy had come all the way from Manchester England to see them and to see Bruce Springsteen tonight. Unfortunately, Danny Federici died yesterday, so his trip was turning into a bit of a downer since British Air wouldn’t let him change the return. It would have cost him 850 pounds to buy a new return. He was really looking forward to our show though. Even though the set last night was the first in a long time that I didn’t play the accordion, I hope that my playing at least was worthy to pay tribute.
