Show tonight
Tonight’s gig should be pretty fun. We’ve only been headlining this year and this is our first show opening for another national (international actually) act. So we get to play a short high energy set , which is always fun, AND we will have finished our set before my normal bedtime which is a wonderful bonus. I really don’t like starting to play a set after 11! Tonight we will have finished long before that.
Opening for another national is a great way to pick up some new fans and cross pollinate between bands. Festival season is coming up (3 for us in May) and that’s much of the same idea. The only thing with festivals is that there are multiple stages so a person in the audience isn’t forced to listen to the other bands playing the same stage as the band they came to see. On a club show the audience usually listens to the other bands (well, except in NYC!) which is good for all the bands on the bill.
